ZARS Shootout And Rider Challenge Report And Results From Brainerd

Brainerd, MN – Zalusky Advanced Riding School and Track Days (ZARS) recently held its Shootout and Rider Challenge Championship Series on September 2 at Brainerd International Raceway on the Competition Course.

The event was held after round #4 of Central Roadracing Championships. The series stop was presented by Blown Concepts and awarded over $500 in cash prizes to the top finishers in each of the 4 classes.

In the expert ranks, Jake Schmotter took an early lead with a commanding lead and ultimately took the checkered flag for GP 3/4 with J.R. Hiebert of Canada respectively in 2nd. In GP Expert 1/2, Ten Racing Brett Donahue edged out the competition for the win with Andew Kruse in 2nd and Brian Omara in 3rd.

In the Novice ranks, Trevor Gumm dominated the field for GP 3/4 and Randall Johnson was victorious for GP 1/2.

ZARS hosted the finale to the Rider Challenge. The Rider Challenge provides experienced track day riders with an opportunity to participate in a spirited sprint! Flavio Becerra clinched another win for GP 3/4. In GP 1/2, Catherin Hurley made her debut and took the win in a unique and epic battle with her grandfather, Roy Konicek. Konicek’s granddaughter ultimately took the win.

ZARS heads to Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, Minnesota, for the next ZARS Advanced Riding Schools on September 14.
